The charismatic lead singer of The Doors, the band he co-founded in 1965, shot to fame in 1967 with their smash hit “Light My Fire.”

With fame came pressure and with pressure came alcoholism. Morrison put on weight and grew a beard and in 1970 was found guilty of indecent exposure during a concert. He was sentenced to six months behind bars and fined $500.

He was freed on bail pending an appeal. Mystery surrounds Morrison’s death.
