My Vinyl Countdown continues with Dylan, the Doors and a missed turn on Electric Avenue

ALBUM: The Doors Greatest Hits  (1980)

Space and time, sometimes I run out of both. So I'm giving you two reviews instead of the usual five. But wait. These reviews are of two legendary artists and deserve a little break-out room.

So today we are going to do The Doors and Bob Dylan. I wonder if they ever met? (The Internet says 'no.')

Of course the Doors were led by the charismatic Jim Morrison, who was about as enigmatic as he was charismatic. Same for Dylan. But before we get to D&D, let's check my NP (Now Playing) record this week.

It is Eddie Grant of “Electric Avenue“ fame. Only my album, the 1984 Going For Broke, is the album AFTER his big one. Up until this week, I thought I had the album with ”Electric Avenue“ on it. Dang.

Well, it does have some good, rock inflected reggae and ”Romancing the Stone,” a song commissioned for the hit movie of the same name starring Kathleen Turner, however it was not used in the movie (except for a short guitar solo).
