The Doors' John Densmore unveils LA street signs connecting his name with Jim Morrison as he pays tribute to the late rocker

As the drummer for the Doors, John Densmore's name has been linked with lead singer Jim Morrison's for more than half a century.

And the 73-year-old rocker was on hand to unveil a pair of street signs in Encino on Thursday that also connect the two greats, with the intersection reading Morrison Street and Densmore Avenue.

John attended Los Angeles' annual Day of the Doors celebration for the ceremony at the road junction - which lies not far from where the seminal rock band was formed in 1965.

Whilst the road names have been in place by chance for years, city officials put signs naming both streets on the same pole in celebration of the band.
